I’ve surprisingly had a decent amount time to read this summer! If I’ve accomplished my to-do list for the day and my little guy is down for a nap, I can usually snag an hour or so of reading time each day.
Summer time is my time for easy, lighthearted reads. These reads also work great for a sleep-deprived new mom such as myself who can’t remember what she ate two hours ago, let alone keep up with an intricate story line.
Here are some books I have on my list to read this summer as well as a couple great reads I’ve added for new moms:
Every word of this book is true. Dawn Dais finds humor in the struggles of a new mom. I literally laughed out loud the whole way through this book.
This is a beautifully written book about the journey into motherhood by a woman that never anticipated becoming a mom. This book lifted me up on my worst days as a new mom and made me believe I was a superhero just like all the other moms out there.
I just finished this book and loved it! It’s a thriller that starts of with a girl who disappears in a small town in the Ozark Mountains. The book shows the dark side of small towns where the fierce loyalty between citizens can sometimes turn out to be a bad thing.
This is thriller written from multiple perspectives that tells the story of a woman whose husband recently died. A reporter is trying to learn the truth about the death of the husband and the crimes he committed. I’m currently reading this and it’s pretty interesting so far.
I have been planning to read a Jojo Moyes novel for months now! This was the only one available for e-book rental from the library so I decided to go with it. It’s a love story about a single mom. Seems like a simple concept, but the reviews say it’s hard to put down.
Elin Hilderbrand is known for writing beach reads. This book takes place in Nantucket and is about a woman who is rumored to be having an affair with her best friend’s husband.
The latest book in the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series. I devoured the first three books. I’m interested in seeing what this book is like since it is written by a different author.
That’s what’s on my Kindle right now! What books do you have on your summer reading list? Leave your comments below.
